The Dattari Baboon was the highlight of David Aaron's presentation at TEFAF Maasticht in 2023. We had the opportunity to produce a trailer for the beautifully carved piece and draw special attention to its outstanding provenance.

Painted when the artist was just fifteen, this painting depicting the launch of the Argo was all about redemption and shock-factor.

The collossal painting was presented at the Paris Salon des Champs-Élysées in 1890 as a revenge against the elitist academic establishment that 'blackballed' the artist's access at the Grand Prix de Rome the previous year.

Over the surreal months of the pandemic, we were all confined to our homes while an incalculable number of artworks remained dormant and unobserved in empty galleries and museums, like ghosts from the past, unable to communicate with any onlooker.

With this video we created an imagined atmosphere within one such empty space: one that is both uncomfortable and sublime.

The American poet, psychoanalyst and a post-trauma recovery specialit, Clarissa Pinkola Estes once said: 'Without art we live under the illussion that there is only time, and not eternity'.
